Italian National and Under-21 Teams to Compete in Friuli Venezia Giulia This Autumn

In a celebration of Italian football, the National Team and the Under-21 National Team are set to compete in Friuli Venezia Giulia this autumn, facing off against Israel and Ireland, respectively.

Governor Massimiliano Fedriga expressed the region’s enthusiasm in a statement on Sunday. “Friuli Venezia Giulia is proud to welcome back the National Team and the Under-21 National Team,” he said. “This autumn, our fans will gather in Udine and Trieste to support our flagship teams and show them all the affection, passion, and love for football that have always characterized us.”

On Monday, October 14, the National Team will play Israel at the Stadio Friuli-Bluenergy Stadium in a crucial Nations League match. The following day, the Under-21 National Team will take to the field at the Stadio Rocco in Trieste to face Ireland, with a spot in the final stages of the 2025 European Championship in Slovakia on the line.

“These are two significant events for which the Region has given and will continue to provide maximum support,” Governor Fedriga noted. “They represent a great opportunity for Friuli Venezia Giulia both from a sporting perspective and in terms of tourism promotion, which also involves major events. These initiatives not only increase the visibility and awareness of Friuli Venezia Giulia but also have positive impacts on the local economy.”

The matches promise to bring together fervent fans from across the region, reinforcing Friuli Venezia Giulia’s reputation as a hub for passionate football support and showcasing the area’s cultural and economic vitality.
