Preamble

The holidays provide us with opportunities to connect with family and friends we not see during the course of the year. Feelings of anticipation and joy, as well as more emotionally charged states, such as anger, frustration or resentment may fill the air (our consciousness), depending on the quality of relationships and personal histories.

Whether we are celebrating and feeling festive this holiday season, or dealing with relationship, and other challenges, developing a deeper level of honest and intimacy with ourselves is the key to experiencing greater life, love and happiness now and throughout the year.

HEALING LOVE: The Greatest Gift of All

Developing honesty and intimacy with ourselves is of primary importance if we truly want to feel alive and experience life to its fullest. When we are honest with ourselves about how we feel, and what our needs and desires are, we allow the Infinite Source within us to support our expression and fulfill our needs. Being intimate with ourselves is not about blaming or judging others for what they may or may not have done – rather it is about taking personal responsibility for our needs and desires, and communicating them without judgement, blame, or expectancy, when appropriate.

Being vulnerable and honest can be frightening. We may wonder what other people may say, think or do if they know how we really feel; we may be afraid of losing the love, support and approval of those we care about and/or; may be afraid of having to make difficult choices and enact change in our personal affairs. Our minds conjure up the worse possible scenarios, filled with versions of dramatic episodes good for any afternoon TV show, rather than positive change.

The fearful part of us would have us think that hiding “the truth”- our truth – will keep us safe. However, doing so affects our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being and the degree of Life Energy we experience and express. While we may think we are protecting ourselves, we are in fact blocking the very things we desire from manifesting in our lives.

To change this situation, we must begin turning within, and honoring how we feel, and who we are. This means developing a deeper level of honesty and intimacy with ourselves, first and foremost, getting clear about our wants, needs and desires, and allowing ourselves to feel the pain of any pent-up emotions, as well as the joy that lies beneath them. In doing so, we awaken to a greater express of love, health and vitality.

* What are your heart and soul beckoning you to do?

* What are you needing to say, and to whom?

* What changes do you need to make, but have felt too frightened to do?

* What hidden believes and thoughts are keeping you from

experiencing and expressing the greatness of who you are, and

who you are meant to be?

If you would like to get more clarity, you can try this journaling exercise:

Journaling Exercise

1. For maximum benefit, turn off your phone, have a journal and pen nearby and do this exercise when you have a minimum of 15-20 minutes. If you like, you can light a candle and/or put on soft music to create a relaxing atmosphere.

2. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, allowing yourself to relax. Notice the rise and fall of your belly or the feeling of air as it moves in and out of your nostrils with each breath.

3. Bring to mind a challenging situation or relationship. Know that this situation or person is here for a reason, and is here to help you heal and grow.

4. When ready, open your eyes and write the following question in your journal:

What does my Higher Self (intuition or whatever name you choose to use) want to communicate to me about this situation? How am I needing to grow?

5. If nothing comes, repeat the following helping statements:

I am willing to listen.

I hear only the truth.

The guidance you receive will feel peaceful, and clear, and may come as a word, phrase or longer writing.

Wishing you a happy, healthy holiday!

With love,

Theresa

that is always available and ready to guide us. We simply need

to be willing and ready to listen. And the more we do,

the more will be revealed.”
